A mining lease gives the holder the exclusive right to mine for specified minerals within the mining lease area during the term of the lease.
In addition to allowing mining, a mining lease permits prospecting operations and prescribed mining purposes to be conducted in association with mining operations. A mining lease for Ancillary Mining Activities only may also be applied for.
An Ancillary Mining Activity (AMA) Condition can be applied for which is a condition on an existing Mining Lease.
