Mine Safety Advisory Council quarterly meeting

Location: Online

The Mine Safety Advisory Council (MSAC) was established in 1998 following recommendations made in the Mine Safety Review and Gretley Inquiry to provide the Minister with advice on WHS issues of critical importance to the NSW Government. The council was strengthened in 2006 and has aimed to increase the emphasis on safety and health within the NSW mining and extractives industry by reviewing and analysing safety performance, setting strategic directions, providing advice, and developing policy recommendations.

The council operates in an environment of trust and cooperation to address these issues and meets at least four times a year. Copies of all meeting minutes of the council are published on this website.

Western region metalliferous electrical engineers’ forum

The Western region metalliferous electrical engineers’ forum is a collaborative meeting, hosted by the NSW Resources Regulator, to share knowledge across the electrical engineering discipline of the metalliferous mining industry in Western NSW.

Our electrical engineering inspectors will review emerging issues and trends in the application of electrical engineering in metalliferous mines. The meeting also includes a review of recent incidents, site experiences in managing safety and discussions on improving electrical safety. This event is an essential part of meeting continual professional development requirements for holders of practicing certificates. It also provides networking opportunities and an avenue for direct communication with the Regulator.

Meeting attendees are encouraged to discuss key learnings from their experiences and participate in constructive technical discussion.

Standardised Subsidence Information Management System workshop
