EPA Hotline

The independent Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is now the lead regulator of environmental and health impacts of coal seam gas activities in NSW, with responsibility for compliance and enforcement.

The EPA is a trusted independent watchdog for the environment. It has the power to investigate serious breaches and enforce conditions of environment protection licences.

In most instances, environmental concerns should be reported to the source or individual responsible for the problem. When this doesn't resolve the issue, or is unlikely to, contact the EPA.

The EPA Hotline is 131 555 (cost of a local call, except from mobile phones) call 02 9995 5555 from outside of NSW.

This is a confidential service, with the informant's details only being passed on to the local council or other regulatory authority (where relevant) with the permission of the caller.
