Public Consultation: Review of WHS (Mines & Petroleum Sites) Laws - Sydney

Location: Video-conference

We are facilitating a concurrent review of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 during 2020.

The public consultation process, open from 1 March 2020 until 17 April 2020, will provide opportunities for interested stakeholders and individuals to provide feedback. Public forums are being held throughout NSW and there are other opportunities to provide feedback via our website.

This free half-day forum will be facilitated by an independent reviewer via video-conference and will provide an opportunity for open discussion of issues and feedback. You must register to be provided with a link to the video-conference.

Surface coal mining engineering managers’ forum

Location: Hunter

The surface coal mining engineering managers' forum is a free collaborative forum, hosted by the NSW Resources Regulator, to share knowledge across the mining engineering discipline of the surface coal industry.

This meeting is held with mining personnel at open cut coal mines and coal processing facilities, who hold the statutory position of mining engineering manager and open cut examiner. The meeting will discuss topical issues, give updates on guidelines and standards, discuss published safety alerts, bulletins, investigation releases and relevant notifiable incidents from the previous six months.

This event is an essential part of meeting continual professional development requirements for holders of practicing certificates. It also provides networking opportunities and an avenue for direct communication with the Regulator.
